This policy explains how we handle personal data at Edgar. Privacy isn't a footnote for us — it is the whole point. Edgar is built to reassure, not to surveil, and we collect as little as we can to do that well.
The data controller is [à compléter], based in Paris, France. For any privacy question or request, contact us at privacy@edgar.care.
Account data: the caregiver's name and email. Household and resident profile: a name and basic context for the home being looked after. Ambient wellbeing signals: movement between rooms, doors opening and closing, kitchen activity, and rest. Edgar uses no cameras, no microphones, and never records video or audio.
Wellbeing signals can reveal information related to a person's health, which makes them special-category data under Article 9 of the GDPR. We process them on the basis of the resident's explicit consent. That consent is built into setup, and the resident can withdraw it at any time, which stops the monitoring.
We process this data to provide daily reassurance in plain language, to detect meaningful changes in a resident's routine, to send tiered alerts when something needs attention, and to support the household and the service.
Only the caregivers the resident has consented to can see their information. Our service providers (processors) may handle data strictly on our instructions and under contract, with appropriate safeguards. We never sell your data and never use it for advertising.
Your data is processed and stored on infrastructure located within the European Union.
We keep personal data for as long as your subscription is active. After that, it is deleted or anonymised within [à compléter], unless we must keep certain records to meet a legal obligation.
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive a portable copy, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, write to us at privacy@edgar.care.
Our marketing site uses only essential cookies needed to make it work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
If you believe we have mishandled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data-protection supervisory authority. We'd be grateful for the chance to put things right first — please reach out to us.
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the latest version here with a new date.
