These terms of use govern your access to and use of the Edgar website and services. By using Edgar, you agree to them.
Creating an account or using the service means you accept these terms in full. If you do not agree with them, please do not use Edgar.
Edgar provides ambient wellbeing awareness: small, non-invasive sensors and an interpretation layer that turns everyday activity into calm, plain-language reassurance and tiered alerts. Edgar is not a medical device, a diagnostic tool, or an emergency-response service, and it does not replace the emergency services or medical care.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for the activity that takes place under your account.
Edgar observes the daily rhythm of a person living at home (the "resident"). Because these signals can reveal information about a person's health, they are special-category data. The resident's explicit consent is required — by law and by design — before any monitoring begins, and it can be withdrawn at any time.
You agree to use Edgar only for its intended purpose: caring, with consent, for a loved one. You must not use it to monitor someone without their knowledge and consent, to attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, or for any unlawful purpose.
Edgar is a subscription service. The sensor kit remains ours and stays with you for as long as your subscription is active. The first month is free, you can cancel at any time, and returns are free. See our Pricing page for current plans and details.
We work hard to keep Edgar running reliably, but we cannot guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Connectivity, power, and third-party networks are outside our control. Edgar is provided "as is", without warranty of uninterrupted availability.
Edgar is a source of reassurance and awareness, not a guarantee of safety. It is not a substitute for the emergency services, for medical care, or for human contact. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. In an emergency, always contact the emergency services.
The Edgar name, brand, software, design and content are protected by intellectual-property law and remain ours. Using the service does not grant you any rights over them beyond the right to use Edgar as intended.
You may stop using Edgar and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached, or if we must do so for legal or security reasons. On termination, we handle your data as described in our Privacy policy.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new date, and, where the change is significant, let you know.
These terms are governed by French law. We will always try to resolve any dispute amicably, and you may turn to a consumer mediator. Failing an amicable resolution, the courts of Paris, France shall have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply to you.
